Why it’s on the list: Sometimes I feel that life is just moving too fast, I rush round working and looking after the kids and trying to keep the house in some sort of order and wasting way too much time on the internet …. and never actually stop and relax. Even when I’m in bed or watching telly I find myself fidgeting, jigging my feet or something. So I want to learn how to totally relax and find a way of having some peace and quiet.
How/when I’ll judge this task to be completed: When I have learnt and put into practice some meditation techniques.
29.04.10 Today I met a woman at 4N Faringdon who runs meditation classes at Shrivenham every Tuesday. Typically I’ve got stuff going on for the next few weeks on Tuesdays but I have it in the diary for the 18th and will hopefully be able to go and make some headway on this challenge.
03.01.12 Not sure what happened with the meditation class I thought I was going to two years ago! I met someone else recently who, coincidentally, also lives in Shrivenham (must be the meditation centre of the universe!) and booked onto her meditation taster session, which happened today. I learnt to meditate from a wonderfully simple and straightfoward book called The Calm Technique. I couldn’t get to a class for obvious reasons but this book told me everything I needed to know.

Thanks Lisa. I just did a meditation taster session today but I’ve also ordered the book as I’m keen to carry on with this one.
