Why it’s on the list: I run my own business and think you can never stop learning (about anything, not just business!) so want to read five books by successful or interesting business people to see what I can learn.
How/when I’ll judge this task to be completed: When I have read five books and written short reviews of them.

1. How to Do Everything and Be Happy by Peter Jones
Kind of a life self help book rather than specifically business, but then I reckon you have to be happy in life to make a business work, so I reckon it deserves to be here. (And anyway, it’s my list so I can do what I want LOL!!)

2. Get Out While You Can – Escape The Rat Race by George Marshall
Excellent book on making money through websites via affiliate marketing, Google Adwords etc. Very readable, enjoyable and inspired me to take action and start my own affiliate sites! (Full review here)
3. Get off your Arse too by Brad Burton
I was really disappointed by this – I loved the first book but found this was too rambling. Sorry Brad 🙁 (Full review here)
4. Soul Journey by Lisa Cherry
I actually proofread/edited this for Lisa, and was a contributor too. It’s a book that brings together Lisa’s own experiences of being in care, homelessness and alcoholism with the stories of other women who have been through cancer, depression, family difficulties and, in my case, domestic violence. It’s not a gloomy book at all, in fact it’s very uplifting and shows you that women can survive and thrive from pretty much anything. Self hel p rather than business help, but see #1!
5. Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh
I actually listened to the audio book of this, rather than read it. It’s the story of the guy who created Zappos Shoes, which was later bought out by Amazon. I was told this was a great business help book and while there are some interesting ideas in it, I found it more of an autobiography and not as interesting as I was told!
