Why it’s on the list: I like museums. Well, I like some museums. Some are cool and interesting and fascinating. Some are, well, just a bit pants. I’ve done all the big London museums, and some of the smaller ones too. I’ve done the local museum. I’ve done the small museum in my favourite place ever – several dozen times. So it’s time to find a new one and decide if it’s cool or pants.
How/when I’ll judge this task to be completed: When I have visited a new (to me) museum) and done a short report on here.

Well I’ve actually visited three new museums! We holidayed in Wales and visited three museums while we were there.
1. Carmarthenshire County Museum – not very impressed at all. Very old fashioned, stuck in the 1970s. Some of the exhibits were interesting – like the recreated Welsh cottage – but there were far too many Welsh Dressers!
2. Kidwelly Industrial Museum – visited this on a damp morning at the end of our holiday. Very interesting place. It’s on the site of an old tinplate works and a lot of the old equipment is still there, plus equipment from various other local industrial sites and some old steam engines.
3. The Pendine Museum of Speed. The smallest of the three museums we visited, but easily my favourite. One room, with some speedy vehicles on display, including Babs, the car used to break the world speed record (killing its driver, Parry Thomas in the process). Not a great deal to see but there was a fascinating video on the race to break the record, which was worth seeing on its own!
