Why it’s on the list: Once, many years ago, I was going to fill a shoebox to send to Romania for Operation Christmas Child. I actually never got round to it at the time, but then read some very negative stuff about the organisation behind the scheme, Samaritan’s Purse, regarding them sending out religious materials etc, and decided that actually that wasn’t something I wanted to be involved with. I’ve since found out though that there are other organisations who distribute the much needed shoeboxes without the proselytizing.

How/when I’ll judge this task to be completed: When I have researched and found a shoebox organisation I am happy to work with, and packed and sent off a shoebox.
