Why it’s on the list: The Olympics are in London in 2012. It’s going to be a big thing. I want my kids to experience it and want to take them along to one of the events.  Nuff said.

How/when I’ll judge this task to be completed: When Katie, Dan and I have sat in a stadium/arena etc to see an event in the London 2012 Olympics.

Progress report so far – not going well. I applied for tickets in the first round, but was unsuccessful. All that seemed to be left was Greco Wrestling, which they weren’t interested in, so we decided to pass on the Olympics and try to get Paralympic tickets instead. The kids have agreed that if we go to the Paralympics then that will count ….

Update Nov 2011:

Congratulations! We are delighted to confirm that you have been allocated some or all of the London 2012 Paralympic Games tickets you applied for.

Well I’ve had an email saying I was successful in the bid for the Paralympics .. and the amount debited from my account matches the amount of the two events I applied for … so it looks like we will be going to see Goalball and Athletics in the Paralympics London 2012! Woo!

 

Update September 2012:

We went to the Paralympics on Saturday 1sty September 2012 and saw 7 a side football, goal ball and athletics – and it was the most amazing experience! Full blog post coming soon, with pictures.
