The Diary of a Nobody by George Grossmith
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Hmm I think I enjoyed this little tale of the rather foolish Mr Pooter, his patient wife Carrie, son Lupin and their mad assortment of friends and relatives. I certainly found myself chuckling out loud as Pooter showed himself up yet again in public and though the book is well over a century old a lot of the situations felt familiar, not that much has changed in some ways. But I did feel that I wanted it to go somewhere it didn’t – I kept expecting some big thing to happen but it just bumbled along at its own jolly pace. Glad I read it though, very enjoyable in a bumbling kind of way?
